What’s in Turnbull’s 100-point cab?

The St. Helena Star featured Turnbull and our story after we received a 100 point score from Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate for our single vineyard Fortuna Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2010 vintage.

In the story, Winemaker Peter Heitz talks about the wine:

“So, when asked how he knew Turnbull had something special in 2010, his answer came quickly and simply. ‘As soon as it went into the barrel I sensed something exciting. There was a really interesting, flowery scent, and a bit of spiciness that caught my attention.” For Heitz there are two requirements for a truly great wine. “It must be both interesting and delicious. For me a wine must be interesting first. But there are a lot of wines that are interesting, but which simply aren’t delicious. And there are a lot of delicious wines to the taste, but which aren’t particularly interesting. With 2010, it was that unique quality from the Fortuna vineyard that was, exceptionally, both.’”
